All me needs funding
Entrepreneurs protect IP as a matter of a way of working. All me does not need funding so much that we want to give away our Intellectual Property.
In a recent engagement with Kickstarter they request a video of our app being tested in order to be able to run a project.
This might be the most commercially naive request ever.
Please add an unedited product testing and interaction video that shows a member of your team using the actual app prototype from start to finish in a single take. This should include real on-screen navigation and interaction (for example, opening the app, moving through key screens, showing core privacy features in use, and any other main functions you describe on the project page). A simple smartphone recording of the screen, or a screen recording with your team member narrating, would work well. – Please add close-up images of your working prototype, such as screenshots of the live app running on a device that clearly show the current interface and functionality, not just concept designs or mockups. Kickstarter.
All me has unique features, interactions and flows all under our Intellectual Property we can’t share anything with anyone until it goes live.
So suffice to say we won’t be using Kickstarter.
Entrepreneurs must protect their Intellectual Property
The interesting thing is that we previously ran the exact same project on Kickstarter that was approved. However it appears that in this case their guidelines have changed from the last time.
We understand your concern about not revealing too much IP. You can focus the video and images on the core flows and features you are comfortable showing, but there still needs to be enough real, on-device interaction for backers to see that a working prototype exists and what stage it’s in. Kickstarter.
Understanding without flexibility is pointless so the answer from our side has to be no.
We can’t share the features or the flow (since these are new to social media) of the app or I might just as well contact my former colleagues at [social media platform] and let them know what’s coming. All me
The desire to get funding can sometimes cause entrepreneurs to give away their ideas without even realising it.
Be careful out there.
All me GoFundMe
All me is already on GoFundMe with a target of £50,000 starting with a request for £2000
The All me app is a new kind of social platform designed around the principle of “Privacy by Default.” Unlike mainstream social networks, its goal is to give people back their digital freedoms allowing them to connect, share, and interact without constant surveillance, profiling or judgment.
